Although not for everyone, the Nana area of Bangkok can be a great place to set up home and live for people from all walks of life.
In this exciting neighbourhood nestled between Phloen Chit BTS station and Asok BTS station you can find just about everything…except maybe peace and quiet, but who moves to Bangkok for peace and quiet?
Nana boasts an array of international restaurants, including German, Mexican, Japanese, Arabic, Australian, Italian, Indian, New Zealand, and of course Thai, so you will never be short of finding something interesting to eat. There are also splendid international buffets at the JW Marriot, Landmark and Sheraton to try.

As well as the cuisine, there are dozens of places to relax with a drink in one of the many pubs, bars and clubs, including the Thaivisa Lounge Bar on Sukhumvit Soi 7, BTS Exit 1.
In addition to the restaurants and bars, Nana is also home to an ever growing number of condominium and apartment buildings.
Quick and easy access to the best of Bangkok
These residential buildings offer their residents quick and easy access to the BTS stations of Nana and Asok, Sukhumvit MRT station, Terminal 21 shopping center with its cinema, supermarket, shops and restaurants, Asok Intersection and its surrounding office buildings, and also the pleasant Benjakitti Park with its jogging and cycling track, where you can burn off the calories from that international buffet, or at least some of them.
The condominium projects in the area range from the very high budget to the low budget, the aged to the brand new and from the good to the bad… and to the ugly.
Condos for sale in Nana: What’s available?
Let’s have a look at some of the condos for sale in Nana we have dealt with recently.
Amongst the older buildings in the area you can count Saranjai Mansion on Soi 6 and Sukhumvit Suite on Soi 13.
At Saranjai Mansion you can rent a fully-furnished, 60-70sqm, 1 bedroom unit for around 20,000 to 27,000THB/month or a 141sqm + 80sqm terrace, 2 bedroom unit for 50,000THB/month. A 2 bedroom unit such as this can be bought for 15,000,000THB, or just over 100,000THB/sqm.
Saranjai Mansion has easy access to Sukhumvit Road and the BTS as well as the Sukhumvit Soi 4 nightlife. Not all units here come with a car park space and Soi 6 suffers from bad traffic during the rush-hour periods but the BTS is just a 5 minute walk away.
Sukhumvit Suite is almost opposite Saranjai Mansion on the other side of Sukhumvit Road and can be found on Soi 13, just beyond the Ambassador Hotel. This high-rise building houses both residential units and offices and offers some of the cheapest rental rates in the area. It has great facilities including the standard swimming pool and gym as well as Thai restaurants, a Korean restaurant, a coffee shop, several laundries, 3 convenience stores, a salon, massage shop and squash court.
Rental rates for a studio are as low as 10,000THB/month and a 1 bedroom 59sqm condo can be bought for 3,900,000THB (66,102THB/sqm). Sukhumvit Suite has had problems in the past with its juristic office management and some leaking water pipes, but it seems like both of these have since been rectified.
The Hyde Sukhumvit 13
One of the latest additions to the Nana condo market is The Hyde Sukhumvit 13, a high-rise building that has recently been completed and units transferred to the individual owners. Although still very modern with nice facilities there are very few lights on in the evenings so there are probably not many people living there yet. So although a bit lonely, you’ll have the gym and pool to yourself, which is one of the longest I have seen, albeit with a few bends along the way. The picture above is of a 2 bedroom unit for sale measuring 82sqm and it is on the market at 16,000,000THB.
Circle S Sukhumvit 12
We’ve looked at the past and present, now let’s have a look at the future of residential living in the Nana area with 2 condominiums from a developer who already has several projects in the area.
The first is a low-rise condominium on Sukhumvit Soi 12 called Circle S Sukhumvit 12. It is just about complete and we have the 3 bedroom penthouse unit for sale for 26,000,000THB. The unit measures 179sqm and is on the top floor.
Circle 11 on Sukhumvit Soi 11
The second condominium is what will be known as Circle 11 on Sukhumvit Soi 11. There has been a lot of discussion about this project because of its ‘Sky Garage’ a mechanical parking system which takes your car up to your unit, a bit of a novelty feature which would indeed be cool if one has a red Ferrari, or perhaps a yellow Lamborghini, but I’m still not convinced our white Nissan Almera would make quite as cool a spectacle. Have a look at a unit type 3A for re-sale from a private owner.
I have just mentioned a fraction of what is to offer in the Nana area in this piece, but there are a plethora of other condos and apartments for sale; on the well known soi 4, the trendy soi 11 and the much quieter sois of 8, 10 and 12.
